20% of grade = 2 Choices of essay topic (1 page each)

CHOICES INCLUDE: describe the Doctrine of the Affections and give examples of pieces or composer that represent specific "affects"; describe components of and examples of Baroque opera; describe developments in church music that took place in the 16th century as results of the Protestant reformation; ten years of the life of Bach contrasted with the same decade in the life of Handel; describe the typical instruments & developments in instruments during the Baroque period (1600-1750); describe early concert life in America before 1820; one decade of the life of Mozart contrasted with the same decade in the life of Haydn


30% of grade = Terms:
